Founding Conference/AGM

of the

Human Rights Front of South Africa

The HRF is a grassroots political party which will defend the human rights and civil liberties of all South Africans from a government which is geared towards denying citizens these rights. The HRF will challenge any State-sponsored legislation which undermines people's rights as set out in the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the Bill of Rights, enshrined in the South African Constitution - the highest law in our land.

The aim of the founding conference/AGM of the HRF is to elect into office the members of the National Executive Committee and a shadow cabinet who will register the HRF as an official political party; and be the pioneers who will steer the party towards achieving its goals of holding seats in all South African government constituencies at local, provincial, and national levels, including Parliament.

Grassroots Politics For Real South Africans

Who Are We?

The HRF has formed out of the recognition that SA citizens are being persecuted by the State on many different levels and that for those few who decide to overcome fear and stand up for their rights, there is little or no support of any substance.

The founder, Byron Tenneson Bernard, began constituting the HRF when, after a number of years of working hard as an activist for another political party with similar values, he could see that the party would not grow and achieve it's objectives simply because it had a poor administration. He decided to begin writing a more comprehensive constitution for a new political party which would learn from those mistakes and be more specific about the party's values and what was expected of its officers to ensure it's objectives were met - a political party holding on to profound integrity, and being truly responsible for representing the people in government at all levels.

Founding the Federation

Having laid some basic operational foundations for the platform to launch and having  completed the draft constitution of the HRF, it is now time to form the National Executive Committee. Members elected into office by their peers and other members of the party who attend the conference will be responsible for increasing membership and launching the HRF as an official political party which can begin contending for seats in government office.

The founding conference/AGM will last 3 days and be held at the beginning of Spring over the first weekend of September 2017 in the administrative capital of the nation - Pretoria, South Africa.  The event will double as both the founding annual general meeting of the HRF, as well as a membership recruitment drive.

The public conference will showcase expert panels and keynote speakers who will address topics related to the HRF challenges, objectives and philosophies, whilst candidates and members will conduct the official business of the AGM in a series of meetings which will not be open to the public. In the evenings after the official business of the day has been concluded, entertainment will be provided for the delegates, members and public alike.

Our Milestones

We will need a minimum of R20 000 to ensure that this important event takes place on a very basic level. Logistic expenses cannot be avoided and although we expect many of the expenses to be sponsored, we cannot avoid the need for finances to pay for some necessities such as the venue; AV equipment and administrative materials; and basic catering. Some keynote speakers, panel members, and entertainers might also require that, in the very least, their transport costs will be covered. Any excess funding will be invested into publicizing the event and any excess funding remaining after the event will be donated to the party to be used in a manner in which the new Executive Committee sees fit.
